Curious things, habits. People themselves never knew they had them.

  • I love so many Agatha Christie books I cannot pick an absolute number one favourite. But I think that in no particular order, I enjoyed the following books best:

    1. Then There Were None
    2. The complete Mr Quin collection (is that cheating?!)
    3. Murder On The Orient Express
    4. Death On The Nile
    5. Sad Cypress
    6. The Moving Finger
    7. Sleeping Murder
    8. Murder Is Easy
    9. Death In The Clouds
    10. Cards On The Table.
I really wanted to add The Pale Horse, body In The Library and some others. But I chose books that I enjoyed and that I thought were well written.

Can't believe ya all didn't mention The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. It is head & shoulders above the rest IMO.
Agree with Murder in the O E. & Cards on the table. Think I would add Death in the clouds.
Also, Crooked House for its unique ending. 4:50 from paddy also deserves a mention.
  • Forgot Roger Ackroyd!! I always say it's one of my favourites. My list of 10 is going up to 20 now :D

It is always very hard choosing your top ten, because there is always one that gets forgotten or left out.

The murder of Roger Ackroyd/ The ABC murders/ N or M ?/ Posters of fate/ 4:50 From Paddington/ The man in the brown suit/ Endless night / Destination unknown / Ten little niggers ( and then they were none)
  • And for sure : crooked house
  • I've only read 15 books at the moment so I might list my current top 5 (note I haven't read And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express or the Murder of Roger Ackroyd so this might change significantly once I've read more books).

    Here they are:
    1. Death on the Nile
    2. The Mysterious Affair at Styles
    3. Crooked House
    4. The Secret Adversary
    5. Peril at End House
  • How many of the 80 odd have you completed??
I've read all the full length books, so every Poirot and Marple. I've not read Partners In Crime. But I've read nearly all the short stories, except for ones that were recently rediscovered. I also have the plays to read and Mary Westmacott books. But I will take my time.. I like knowing there's more out there to discover.
