What do you guys think made Agatha Christie such a success?
I think it's her intricate storylines- what about you?

It's also her clear, straighforward writing style and memorable characters.

Also, unlike many of her peers, she was consistently prolific.  She wrote a novel a year (sometimes more) for over fifty years, plus short stories and plays.  Other contemporaries, like Sayers and Berkeley, stopped writing mysteries after WWII.

I would say one of the reasons was that her writing, no matter the decade it was written in, had imbibed in it the spirit of the twenties, and the uproarious and obstinate hope that it brought.
